The heart of YoungLives

Share your life. Build trust. Show her Jesus.

A YoungLives mentor is a caring woman who walks alongside a young mother—not as a project, but as a friend.

Mentorship looks ordinary on purpose.

Coffee after school. Dinner on a hard day. Celebrating a baby's birthday. Attending club together. Answering the phone. Ordinary presence creates something extraordinary: trust.

YoungLives carries Young Life's relational model into the life of a young mother: go where she is, build a genuine relationship, and earn the opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

What we ask of mentors

Consistency matters more than having all the answers.

1

Be trained and supported.

Mentors receive YoungLives training and serve with the local coordinator and mentor community.

2

Show up in her world.

The relationship grows because a mentor enters a young mother's actual life and remains present.

3

Commit to relationship.

Mentorship requires a steady, long-term rhythm—not a one-time volunteer event.

4

Lead with grace and truth.

Receive each mother with dignity while sharing the hope and new life offered in Christ.

Could you be that person?

“We don't begin with a program. We begin with a relationship.”

You need a growing relationship with Jesus, a willingness to be trained, and the capacity to love consistently.
